At the Bon Jovi concert
Our apartment is very nice here-two levels with views into the Palace gardens.
We went to the Orsay today and saw some great impressionist paintings.
The gardens on the way to the museum are breath-taking and we hope to sit and enjoy them if the weather holds.
The highlight of Sara's day was the BON JOVI concert! One Republic opened and did a great job. They did a really fun medley of songs that included Sexy Back. It was fun. They threw in a little French phrase and the crowd went wild.
Bon Jovi came on and rocked the crowed for 2 1/2 hours as usual! He told the Paris fans that he was, "just getting started"! There were fans from other countries in Europe there and he noted all the flags he saw. Someone threw the French flag up to him and he wore it for a bit. He did some of the same songs that he did at the Phoenix concert but he did a lot more of the older hits than the newer songs. The fans went CRAZY for those older songs. He said he hadn't been out to Paris in a while so I think that's why he did such a great mix of older and newer stuff. The fans were about my age and younger-a much younger crowd than in the States. He also had a little bit different stage and did some neat things with a raised stage that moves. Mom, they did the part where they come out in front of the circle and play the accoustic songs. Karina, I totally thought of you during "It's My Life" - the crowd went crazy for that one. He ended his encore with "Livin' on a Prayer" and I was a happy camper! It was surreal to be in Paris at a Bon Jovi concert, and I wouldn't trade it in for the world!
