Sara at Juliet's balcony
Sean and I took a side trip to Verona, to see Juliet's balcony. We walked about a half hour to the train station then took a one hour train ride to Verona. When we first got off the train it was raining and we had a half hour walk in the rain...but as soon as we got to Juliet's balcony it stopped raining and the sun came out.
We walked into the Capulet courtyard and looked up at her balcony. You can see the letters people have left for Juliet. We also took a picture with the golden statue of Juliet. The tradition is to rub her breast for good luck. I stood looking up at the balcony to see it from Romeo's view. ;)
We also went up to the terrace. We will have to tell you about the special souvenir we bought up there. It was pretty amazing!
Verona was gorgeous and I am so happy I made it to Juliet's balcony!
That night we boarded the night train. It was a 12 hour trip from Venice to Paris. The room is very small with two bunk beds and a little room to jump up on the bed. Sean and I opened the window and the door while we were awake to make it a bit more enjoyable. The countryside was gorgeous, but we were happy to get off the train in the morning...in PARIS!!!
